The very beginning. A good place to start.

I don’t know what to write. In fact, I don’t even know what I am doing.

Simply put, friends and family have been encouraging me for the last 5 or so years to create a website where I can share my dining adventures, worldly travels, and recipes from my kitchen. Yet, with the plethora of other sites out there, it almost seems daunting. Why would I do this when I have no web or creative background? I couldn’t create a flashy site, nor could I build an impressive website. I can’t photoshop an image, nor could I create a great YouTube video. I just know food.

So I put it off.

And off. And off…and a bit more. Till I recently realized that if I kept doing that, I would never start. So here I am. It is shortly after midnight and these ideas keep running through my head.

“I should really share an easy recipe for pot roast.”
“I need to tell friends about my recent trip to Thailand and what made it incredible.”
“There is that awesome new cocktail that I need to rave about.”

I can’t doesn’t mean I can.

I can. I can promise to share my experiences around the world and at home. I can write about the local restaurants that I’ve enjoyed (or not), and about the spots that make my home city that great. I can share about a meal I’ve cooked, or a party friends have thrown and how you two can make it that easy. I can not hold back and I can be honest. Simply put, I can be who I am.

I am a marketer by day, a person who enjoys food by night, and the world when the opportunity arises. While we can find recipes for our kitchens on the web, we can’t experience the sights and smells of a location until you are there. I’ve enjoyed amazing ramen in both Tokyo and in New York. I’ve smelt beautiful pikake flowers in Thailand and in my local chinatown. All of these experiences were different for very personal and different reasons and I hope to share that with you on this journey.

I can’t promise you it will be all smiles and great reviews. I can only promise it will be honest and me.

So with that. I hope you will be a part of the journey with me.

Let’s start. This is the beginning. It is “a very good place to start.”
